Pottery Updates

I have been working on some new pottery pieces for my portfolio.
My portfolio needs to be done by April, so I can submit it for the Architecture program at the University of Utah.
Wish me LUCK!
...

Here are the most recent pieces that I have finished, and am currently working on:

I started throwing a plate a couple days ago. I used to much clay, so it turned into more of a platter.

So I decided to make it into a more decorative piece.

Im adding on leaves, that will wrap around the edge of the platter. It was kind of a last minute idea, but I think its going to look really good!
...

This next piece was a long process. The first one I made turned out beautiful. But as I was leaving the Art Center (after it had just come out of the kiln), I dropped it on the floor and it broke into many many many pieces. I cried.

But! I made a new one. And it turned out just as nice as the first. So I was very excited about that : )

I really like how the glazes turned out. It looks rustic.

This next piece is a candle holder that I made for my mom. She loves it. It's made with porcelain, so the glazes turned out really clean and beautiful.

I added a wire frame around the rim to support the top, and to give the candle more oxygen. I think it turned out really well.
